Growing up in Dalton, Georgia, Thomas spent his summers and holidays exploring the rivers and marshes of the Lowcountry with his extended family. After earning a degree in Natural Resources from The University of the South – Sewanee, he pursued his passion for the outdoors as an international fishing guide, working in Montana, Alaska, Argentina, and even Outer Mongolia.
In 1999, after years of travel, Thomas chose to anchor in Beaufort County and make the Lowcountry his home. He launched his local career as a fly fishing and light tackle charter captain, guiding clients through hidden fishing spots and the pristine inshore waters surrounding Palmetto Bluff. Running his own charter business, Thomas enjoyed year-round work with both local and visiting clients, all while deepening his connection to the land and water.
A blind date at Plum’s Restaurant in downtown Beaufort introduced him to Liz, a local schoolteacher and his future wife. After getting married and welcoming their first child, Thomas transitioned into real estate. In 2005, he was recruited to join the sales team at Balsam Mountain Preserve, a 4,000-acre mountaintop club community in Waynesville, North Carolina. During their three years in the mountains—highlighted by the birth of twins—Thomas found success in real estate, but he and Liz missed the charm and coastal lifestyle of the Lowcountry. So, when the opportunity arose to join the Palmetto Bluff developer sales team, they returned home.
After a decade in developer sales, Thomas shifted his focus to representing both buyers and sellers within the Palmetto Bluff community. Since 2018, he has personally and hands-on represented over $500 million in transactions, building lasting relationships with clients who continue to trust his expertise and guidance.
Today, Thomas, Liz, and their three children fully embrace the Lowcountry lifestyle—spending time on the water and enjoying all that coastal living has to offer. As dedicated members of the Palmetto Bluff community, they cherish the exceptional quality of life it offers. Thomas looks forward to helping others discover and enjoy this remarkable place he is proud to call home.
